Its Time for Tea, this was our first free community engagement event which was partly funded by the Langar cum Barnstone Parish Council, with dancing from Mary Kirsten's School of Dance and music from pianist Dave Marr
We collected locally for a jumble sale to raise funding for financial assistance to give to people experiencing bereavement. The proceeds were split around counties in the East Midlands, mainly as we collected from friends and family in Derbyshire and also received lots of donations from people throughout Nottinghamshire, including some items from Vale Clearances which gave us a head start - out next jumble is due in late May 2025
A big thanks to the family, The Mother, Mac and Lilly for helping us out with this, we couldn't have done it without you
We wanted to join in on the 'shine a light' theme and raise awareness around National Grief Awareness Week by organising a free community Christmas Market...we had a visit from Santa, local stall holders showing off their crafts, Church CofE Primary School supporting us and fundraising for the school, alongside free refreshments, jacket potatoes and mulled wine to warm the cockles on a winters afternoon
A big thank you to all the local volunteers that donated, communities that donated jumble, helped serve teas, washed up and have been generally supportive, also thank you to all the local businesses and projects that donated raffle prizes and funding, including Clare, TW Construction (Nottingham) Ltd, Belvoir Castle, Cotgrave Community Kitchen, John Deere, Skydive Langar, Cropwell Bishop Coop, Redrow Housing, DDL Precision Ltd, Langar cum Barnstone Parish Council, Dave W, Jules and Emma, and Joan and Andrew, Paige, Rene, Mac and Lilly - we owe you big time!
